Gst Cheques In A Bankruptcy
2009-02-03 minute read
Your Trustee would be realizing on certain assets during your bankruptcy, defined as "Property of the Bankrupt." This property does not include any assets, which are determined to be exempt. And certain GST cheques are exempt, others are not. If they are exempt...you would receive them back. But if they are non-exempt or if you signed them over to your Trustee...you would not receive them back.
So, the question you need to find out is whether or not your GST cheques were exempt. I'm not able to answer that part for you without information about your bankruptcy. If you have your bankruptcy documents, you could contact one of our Trustees in your region. Otherwise, you should contact your Trustee directly to find out if these cheques were exempt or not.
