Would My Employer Find Out If I File For Bankruptcy

2008-06-26   minute read

In most cases, your employer will not know that you have proceeded with a bankruptcy.  The most common reason that your employer would have to be notified is if you are being garnished by a creditor.  A bankruptcy will stop almost all garnishments, but in order to stop the garnishment, the trustee must notify your employer that a bankruptcy is in place and the creditor is prohibited from continuing with the garnishment.
